Action UAE flies high

After three years of working with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority’s major events division, Action’s Dubai-based Sports Team was recently contracted to drive additional Abu Dhabi-related exposure out of the UAE capital’s hosting of the six-event Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

Following an initial press conference where an extended three-year ‘Host City’ deal was announced, the team were then contracted to direct a PR campaign to leverage ADTA’s sponsorship of Team Abu Dhabi, piloted by defending RBAR world champion, Austrian Hannes Arch.

The campaign was such a success, ADTA handed the team an extended Pan-Gulf PR contract to promote Team Abu Dhabi’s progress during the 2009 RBAR!  Action will travel to every RBAR round, accompanying media and handling all Team Abu Dhabi media enquiries and requests.  

Despite the project involving a trip to San Diego in early May, Sports Team Account Director Euan Megson unselfishly handed over the press office reins to aviation-fanatic Meredith Carson – who defied an outbreak of Swine Flu to come home safe and sound! 

Back in the skies, and after triumphing in Abu Dhabi, Arch finished third in San Diego to lead the series by three points going into the next round in Windsor, Canada.
