Economy: Armenia re-established its independence in 1991, after more than 70 years of Soviet rule. Mainly services and industry (machine tools, textiles & manufactured goods), and mineral exports (pig iron, copper and non-ferrous metals). Armenia has seen a positive economic growth (averaging 13%) over recent years.
