Ahli United Bank sign landmark agreement with the International Finance Organisation, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group
Objectives:
• To coordinate the public relations surrounding the signing ceremony of a landmark loan agreement between AUB and the IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.
• The signing marked the IFC’s largest investment in the Middle East region to date and this had to be communicated to the regional media.
• Broadcast and print publications from across the Middle East region were required to attend
Challenges:
• To communicate that this was the IFC’s largest investment into the ME region to date and why the IFC selected AUB to partner with in making this investment
• To raise media awareness of what the IFC do in the region and promote the economic activities of emerging Arab countries like Yemen, Egypt, Oman, Iraq.
Results:
• Raised media awareness of the IFC and its activities in the ME region through focused 1:1 interviews and briefing sessions with the media.
• Media from across the GCC were represented at the signing ceremony and press conference
• Generated positive coverage spanned across the Middle East and included broadcast, print and radio
• Positioned AUB as the region’s leading, integrated financial group through leveraging its partnership with the IFC.
